摘要
Renewable energy has been strongly developing in recent years and it is now a significant part of the Vietnamese power system. The grid needs to have planning and expanding solutions to maximize the exploitation of benefits of renewable energy as well as to ensure stable operation of the power system. This paper examines the optimal cost of investment and operation of the Vietnamese transmission system based on the techno-economic model taking into account a high penetration of wind and solar power in the future. The simulated 500kV system includes 80 buses for calculating operation and investment costs of the system and providing the optimal solution. The result of the optimization shows the total power of renewable energy installed at each bus; the load flow on each line satisfy constraints such as energy balance, transmission limitation and system reserve. The research results are reference materials for future planning of the Vietnamese power system with an increasingly growing penetration of renewable energy sources.
