摘要：
This paper provides guidelines and suggestions on designing and implementing a statewide programming contest for high school students. The contest held at SVSU is described. The contest is designed to foster high school involvement and interest in computer programming and generate future interest in collegiate chapters of the Association For Computing Machinery (ACM). The Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) chapter of the ACM has been successfully holding a high school programming contest for the past four years.
