摘要
The flow rate against pressure curves for a modular element of a co-rotating twin extruder has been obtained through 3D simulations. Finite element technique has been employed to solve the corresponding velocity and pressure fields. The results obtained are compared with those predicted by a more simple approximation. Two material cases are studied, a constant viscosity fluid and a shear rate viscosity dependent fluid. A good match between both models, especially for the constant viscosity fluid, is obtained, offering an easier technique for the simulation of flows in complex processing equipments.
