摘要
Waveform parameter agility is one of the effective approaches in improving the low probability of identification (LPID) performance for airborne radar. In this paper, we employ the identification capacity theory to investigate the design criterion of a set of available hopping frequencies with uniform distribution, including the designment of optimal frequency number and frequency interval. Firstly, the identification capacity model of intercept receiver is established. Therein, the carrier frequency estimation process is regarded as a noisy Gaussian channel. Then, via analyzing the capacity model, the maximum conditional information entropy (MCIE) of intercept receiver is deduced with a determinate correct recognition probability based on Fano's inequality. Finally, a design criterion of frequency set for inter-pulse frequency hopping signals is proposed according to the MCIE and the approximate relationship between discreted and continuous mutual information. Numerical results show the proposed criterion can be effectively used to guide the design of LPID inter-pulse frequency hopping signals.
