摘要
Adolescence is one of the periods that most challenge human development, since physical and psychological changes occur. Adolescence is understood as being between 10 and 19 years of age. The number of adolescent pregnant women has been increasing, becoming a worrying factor, so the present study aimed to determine the gestational profile of adolescents and newborns attended at a School Hospital in the city of Sao Paulo - SP. We evaluated data on the total weight gain of the pregnant woman, serum hemoglobin and glycemia levels and the weight of the newborn. Forty-five eutrophic adolescents, who were in the first trimester of gestation, were included in the study. The mean pre-gestational BMI was 21.4 kg / m(2). The mothers' weight gain ranged from 6.5 kg to 31.1 kg. The mean hemoglobin values were 11.76 g / dl. The blood glucose values were 80.2 mg / dl. About 20% of the newborns were underweight, 73.4% were normal weight and 6.6% were overweight. This study shows the need and importance of the adolescent pregnant woman to follow up from the beginning of pregnancy with the help of a multidisciplinary team to evaluate the nutritional status of the mother and the baby.
