Emission from trivalent-ion doped SrTiO3:Pr3+

摘要
Enhancement of the emission from SrTiO3:Pr3+ by addition of trivalent ion has been investigated. From Xray diffraction patterns and photoluminescence (PL) spectra, it is speculated that one of the origins of the enhancement is charge compensation of Pr3+ at Sr2+ site by the trivalent ion substituting for Ti4+ around Pr3+. The trivalent-ion-dependent PL spectra can be explained qualitatively by local distortion around Pr3+ ions due to a difference in an ionic radius between Ti4+ and the trivalent ion.
