摘要
There are a host of potential biomarker targets in acute coronary syndrome (ACS), including markers of inflammation, thrombosis, endothelial activation, ischemia, plaque rupture, necrosis, arrhythmias, and neurohormonal activation (Slide 1). Many of these biomarkers have been identified through the rapidly growing fields of genomics and proteomics. Now, the question becomes: What do these biomarkers add to our understanding of cardiovascular disease (CVD), and how do they figure into the treatment puzzle?
