Dual Storage Electric Vehicle Energy Management Considering Road Grade

摘要
Road gradient affects electric vehicle (EV) dynamics, challenging the energy management of its energy storage system (ESS). Incorporating ultracapaictors improves the efficiency and prolongs battery life, by managing energy appropriately. In this paper, power split schemes on dual ESS considering road grade complexity are developed. The first is fuzzy-based approach with reduced fuzzy rules, while the second proposed approach utilizes road gradient energy as well as vehicle inertial energy to manage ESS energy. The ESS total energy loss and battery temperature rise are taken as key evaluation parameters for comparison and evaluation. Results show the ESS management improved its efficiency and prolongs batterys life.
