Cleft lip and palate Secondary Deformities Outreach Surgical Center Lima Protocol

Introduction This is a retrospective study of the Outreach Surgical Center Program Lima experience in the cleft lip and palate management during 10 years in Peru based in our clock diagram description. Methods This is a Descriptive outcome study level 1. We have operated 588 secondary cleft lip and palate patients since 1999 to 2009 under this protocol. We evaluate our work through the patients follow up after surgical attention. Results We have observed low incidence of bad results in secondary unilateral cleft and bilateral cleft lip cases management using this protocol. We obtained a good functional and aesthetic result in the nose and upper lip. In secondary cleft palate cases, we have had a 5 % of palatal fistulas recurrence.
