摘要
This paper introduces an image retrieval system that works at the region or visual object level. The system, VOIR - Visual Object Information Retrieval, uses a "Visual Thesaurus" to explore associations between text and image content and enable the concept-level queries. The enrichment of the relationships between the textual and visual memories of VOIR is achieved through machine learning techniques.
