An Investigation on Tip Leakage Flow and Ejection Effect for a Transonic Tandem Rotor

摘要
In order to investigate the stall mechanism on transonic tandem rotor, a transonic tandem rotor is chosen and the tip flow field in different tip clearance is simulated and analyzed in this article. Based on the result, the flow field of forward blade (FB) secondary zone has a great effect on stall and it is determined by tip leakage flow and ejection. When the FB tip clearance is large, tip leakage flow is much stronger and becomes the leading factor of the flow field in FB secondary zone. This leads that the stall occurs on FB. When the FB tip clearance is small, ejection effect grows stronger and becomes the leading factor of flow field in FB secondary zone. This leads that the stagnation of tip leakage flow in FB secondary zone is improved and stall occurs on aft blade(AB). Furthermore FB tip clearance affects more greatly than AB tip clearance.
