摘要
Organic solar cells, which are a promising low cost alternative to inorganic solar cells, offer a seemingly unlimited choice of material with which one can build the devices. In this talk, the physics of operation of organic solar cells will be explained, bringing out its distinctiveness with respect to that for the traditional inorganic solar cells. Based on this, the criteria for choosing the material to build the different part of the solar cells - primarily the anode, active area and cathode - will be presented along with the popular choices of materials of the day.
