摘要
Next Generation Networks (NGNs) will feature fast wavelength provisioning and dynamic wavelength routing. This will introduce new challenges, because the physical path limitations (e.g. chromatic dispersion and OSNR) will change dynamically and will need adaptable compensation methods and reliable optical performance monitoring. Fast channel adding and dropping will require new EDFA control concepts to prevent transient effects.
