Atomic force microscopy studies of rubbed polyimide films

摘要：
Rubbed polyimide films as well as polyimide LB films were investigated by AFM. On a macroscopic scale, microgrooves due to rubbing treatment were observed. While on a microscopic scale, polyimide chain molecules were estimated to be nonuniformly oriented in the rubbing direction. LB technique seems to be a better method in producing uniformly oriented polymer chains.
