Autobiography and engagement: the new challenges of the Self in current Spanish literature

In recent years there has been a real explosion of autobiographies that, in many cases, propose new, more ethical and committed ways of approaching this type of literature. This is the case of works such as La isla del padre, by Fernando Marias, El amor del reves, by Luisge Martin or La leccion de anatomia, by Marta Sanz, in which, as we shall try to show, the relationship between the self and its historical context, social, cultural and family aspects become much more evident, while at the same time shedding the narrative of the most narcissistic and nostalgic aspects of the genre.
