摘要
A research program to evaluate the atmospheric pollution and the deterioration of works of art and historic-artistic environments has been carried out in Rome, Tivoli and Viterbo sites. The study of the total suspended particulate (TSP) components has been performed to evaluate the main pollution sources. Several analyses have been carried out on aerosol samples: gravimetric, chemical with the Proton Induced X-Ray Emission (PIXE) technique, morphological and chemical using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) equipped with an Energy Dispersive System (EDS).
