Analysis of the magnetic properties for some Gd-Co compounds

摘要：
High-field magnetization curves of GdCo5, Gd2Co7 and Gd2Co14B measured on single crystals were analyzed on the basis of the single-ion model. It was shown that the anisotropy of the Gd-Co exchange interaction is important for the large magnetocrystalline anisotropy (MCA) Gd-Co compounds. If the anisotropy of the Gd-Co exchange interaction is neglected, the fitted values of MCA of the Co sublattices for the compounds become unreasonably different from those of YCo5, Y2Co7 and La2Co14B.
