Synthesis, dynamic behavior, and X-ray crystal structure of [Li(tmed)]3[WH(C2H4)4]

摘要
Alkylation of W(OMe)(3)Cl-3 with ethyllithium and N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine (tmed) affords the tungsten ethene/hydride complex: [Li(tmed)](3)-[WH(C2H4)(4)]. The anion possesses an approximate trigonal bipyramidal geometry with the hydride in an equatorial site. The ethene ligands exchange with one another, presumably by means of a Berry pseudorotation process, but exchange of ethene and hydride hydrogen atoms is slow on the NMR time scale.
