摘要
The death of a parent is a traumatic event for every child. The intensity of the loss can be perceived by adults as even greater when it affects babies and very young children. However, the distress of grieving children is not easily recognisable by all. We base our thoughts on this matter on our professional experience of grieving babies, and of children in their early childhoods. First, we will present the specificities of the grieving process for babies and children. Then, we will further analyse the expressed symptoms of these patients based on two case studies. To conclude, we will explore the therapeutical perspectives in these kinds of situations. (c) 2011 Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved.
