摘要：

Human presence is essential to nursing care and education. The physical presence of a person is only one means of being present to others. The COVID-19 pandemic has required nurses to facilitate human presence at the bedside and in the classroom by leveraging communication technology. Although using these technologies can be challenging, the skills developed during a time of urgent need will serve our patients and students well into the future.
