摘要
Density matrix renormalization group method (DMRG) is a powerful tool to examine excited and time-dependent states of one-dimensional (1D) strongly correlated systems as well as their ground-state properties. In this review, physical motivation and various numerical techniques for the examination are presented. Then, we summarize our DMRG analysis for photoinduced phenomena in 1D Mott insulators and other transition metal oxides. Close connection between DMRG and key aspects of quantum information such as entanglement is also addressed.
