摘要
This paper presents results of T-bar penetrating tests in clays during the flight of a geotechmical centrifuge at an acceleration of 50 g. Seven groups of centrifuge model test were carried out. The penetration resistance of the T-bar penetrometer was recorded to interpret the undrained shear strength of the clays. The main purpose of the paper was to provide profiles of the undrained shear strength of clays, which may further be used for evaluating stability of submarine slopes and bearing capacity of foundations for offshore structures. In terms of the test results, effects on the undrained shear strength of dry density of clay and soil depth have been discussed. The results obtained through centrifuge model test were compared with previous research work done by other institutions. It was found that the dry density has the most significant effect on the undrained shear strength of the clay.
