Corrosion control on tank bottoms within spill-containment systems

摘要
Providing cathodic protection (CP) under tanks having secondary containment requires special techniques. The chemical reaction that occurs between the containment barrier and the tank bottom must be considered in the CP design. This article discusses the reactions that occur in the undertank environment and suggests water treatment chemistry for use under the tank. It also recommends CP design factors.
