摘要
Present study deals with the effect of Sm(3+)doping on crystal and optical behaviour of Sr(3)MgSi(2)O(8.)For these studies prepared phosphor was characterized by using X-ray powder diffraction and luminescence spectra by recording excitation and emissions spectra. Emission spectra have emission wave lengths centered at 490 nm and 545 nm. Effect of Sm(3+)ion concentration shows dipole-dipole interaction was responsible for the quenching shown by phosphor. The thermoluminescence curves were used to define the ability of the trap to trapping the carriers for Sm(3+)doped Sr(3)MgSi(2)O(8)phosphor.
