摘要
The current paper presents the results related to the lexical availability in English of 85 Primary Education teachers in formation, being the objectives of our study to determine the total amount of words and the words available for each centre of interest, as well as to analyse the incidence in the lexical availability of variables such as sex and the specialization course taken. The methodology followed is very similar to that developed in the PanHispanic Lexical Availability Project, also taking into account specific criteria for the edition of the materials obtained. The results show that food and drinks, animals and city are among the most productive centres, while the professions and clothing are among the least productive. With regards to the incidence of the variables, the girls produce an average of total words higher than that of the boys, although that difference does not turn out to be statistically significant. In relation to the training itinerary followed in their Grade, those who have completed the itinerary of English are those producing a greater number of words, resulting significant the difference with the students who study other itineraries.
