Malaysia women survivors' perspective on healing from childhood sexual abuse through spirituality

摘要
A qualitative study using transcendental-phenomenological research design was used to understand healing experience encountered by Malaysian women survivors of childhood sexual abuse. in this study, element of spirituality its connection healing experience was from childhood sexual abuse were explored. Seven women survivors participated in the study and a total of 21 in-depth interview sessions were carried out with each session ranging from 40 to 100 minutes. Outcome of this study unveiled 4 themes of healing experiences connected to element of spirituality. They were: "Experience of God presence in their life," "Experience of change of perspective of childhood sexual abuse," "Found inner strengths through God," and "Found peace and serenity through spiritual prayer and reading".
