摘要
Catheter fragmentation is a serious complication of IV catheter use in horses, Catheter fragments may remain in the jugular vein or may migrate to the vena cava, heart, or pulmonary artery. Catheter fragments can be imaged radiographically or ultrasonographically, Removal of catheter fragments from the heart or pulmonary artery can be accomplished in foals by use of intravascular retrieval techniques.
