摘要
In the presented placebo controlled single blinded study the efficacy of ketoprofen in the alleviation of postoperative pain in piglets, caused by castration, has been investigated. The intensity of pain has been determined by behaviour parameters during and after castration as well as by cortisol and ACTH plasma levels after castration. It could be shown that coritsol and ACTH plasma levels in piglets treated with 3 mg/kg ketoprofen 10-30 minutes before castration were significantly lower when compared to untreated animals. Furthermore treated piglets showed significantly less behaviour alterations than the control animals.
