摘要
Vibrational dynamics has been studied theoretically in Pd80Si20 glass through the computations of eigenfrequencies of longitudinal and transverse phonon modes, The effective interatomic pair potential and its derivatives required in the study of dynamics of the glass are evaluated using the approach of partial pair potentials, Long wavelength limit of the longitudinal and transverse phonon modes is considered for the prediction of elastic and thermal properties of this glass. Predicted values of the longitudinal and transverse sound velocities, Young's modulus and Debye temperature are in close agreement with the available experimental results.
