Two-way shape memory effect and magnetic-field-induced twin boundary motion in Ni-Mn-Ga microwire

摘要
Ni(55.68)Mn(23.32)Ga(21.00)microwire with a diameter of 116 mu m was produced by a glass-coated melt spinning method. The as-cast microwire, which has 7 M martensite structure at room temperature, showed two-way shape memory effect. A change in the slope of M(H) curve with the applied magnetic field perpendicular to the microwire was observed. The solidification process and quenched-in internal stress were discussed to probe the possible mechanism for the anomalous magnetization behavior. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
