摘要
Dostoievski, when writing Crime and Punishment abides to the moral virtues encompassed in the hugolian theme of redemption of the fallen man. Nevertheless, it is this same theme that Chalamov denounces as "a grave sin commited by litterature" for having given disastrous pride to the outcasts. Whilst Hugo's novel managed to tread lightly between exemplarity and exception, Dostoievski, in his treatment of that same theme, subverts the moral subtext with dire consequences. As such, all known hugolian threads (the redemption of the fallen, dilemmas of self deliberation, the theory of exceptionnality and moral exemption.) are systematically subverted by the dostoievskian novel. In Dostoievski novels, the deconstruction of hugolian ethical paths is intertwined with his treatment of dilemmas, that very hugolian theme if any.
