摘要
Ombilin Coal Mine is the oldest underground coal mine in Indonesia. Retreat longwall mining method has been used for years. Roadway maintenance problem, however, became one of the major problems, disturbing the production. To solve the problem and increase the productivity, roof bolting technology was introduced successfully from Australia in 1993. At present, however, some bolted roadways show very severe deformation and roof and rib failures. This paper describes the ground control problems at Ombilin Coal Mine and also discusses the rock bolting system by means of finite element modeling.
