Aging research within the 5th EC research framework programme

The 5th EC Research Framework; Programme started this year. The general objective of the first thematic programme "Quality of Life" is to link the ability to discover with the ability to produce. in order to address the needs of society and to meet consumer requirements. Activities under the programme focus on those specific areas (e.g., "the aging population and disabilities") where growing knowledge potentially answers some of the pressing questions posed by European citizens, whilst respecting fundamental ethical values.
