摘要
A general transmission equation for near-field antenna measurements is presented. The formulation is based on a propagating plane-wave expansion of the electric field and allows to determine the realized gain pattern of an antenna under test from almost arbitrarily shaped scan surfaces. In particular, the scan surface does not have to be closed completely around the antenna but only has to capture a relatively small part of the antenna main beam. This is demonstrated using numerical results from near-field measurement data.
