摘要
This research aims to find dominant factors of vocational high school graduates competence in construction engineering of stone and concrete that is needed in construction industry in east java. This research uses descriptive method that every variable is analyzed by exploratory factor analysis (EFA). Analysis unit in this research is construction industry engaged in implementing. Researcher uses cluster sampling technique, sampling is set gradually from a wide area to the smallest area. The research instrument uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale which will be measured and explained into indicator variables. The result of this research shows that vocational high school graduates competence in construction engineering of stone and concrete that is needed in a small scale needs skills in drawing, preparation work and finishing. Medium scale needs preparation, drawing, volume calculation and structure work execution. Large scale needs scaffolding installation skills, calculation and construction work execution. In fulfill construction industry needs in graduates, therefore, vocational high school of construction engineering of stone and concrete needs a development and extension of learning materials of dominant competence, for construction industry in order to be able make cooperation with organizing a training for students concerned with work area in the easier effort to get professional labors accord with industry needs.
