摘要：
An outline is given on the realization of a simple but effective architecture for two-photon excitation (TPE) imaging. Focus is on the experience in developing the first Italian architecture in the field. Although it is straightforward to adapt an existing confocal microscope for TPE microscopy, some hints and the novelty of utilixing a very compact scanning head, easily coupled to a modelocked source are discussed.
