Two-photon absorption of porous silicon

摘要
The two-photon absorption coefficient beta in porous silicon has been measured using the intensity dependence of transmission. The value of beta was found to be 37 cm/GW. This value is two orders higher than for bulk Si, which is consistent with the quantum confinement established in these materials. An all-optical switch based on nonlinear absorption and pump probe technique is demonstrated.
