Synthesis, characterization, and crystal structures of [Ag(ca2en)(PPh3)(X)] (X = N3, SCN) complexes

摘要
Two mixed ligand silver(l) complexes, [Ag(caen)(PPh3)(X)], where ca(2)en(1) = a bidentate Schiff base, X = N-3 (1) and SCN (2), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses and H-1 NMR.IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The crystal and molecular structures of (1) and (2) were determined by X-ray crystallography. The coordination polyhedron around the silver(l) center in these complexes is best described as a distorted tetrahedron. The N-3 and SCN anions are coordinated to silver(l) as terminal ligands and, unlike its copper analogue, the SCN ligand is coordinated through the S atom in complex (2). (c) 2006 Elsevier Ltd.
