摘要
The Proterozoic Ernest Henry Fe-oxide-(Cu-Au) deposit is hosted within potassically affected intercalated metasedimentary and metavolcanic rock (ca 1740? Ma). Economic mineralisation (ca 1476 Ma) overprints multiple stages of alteration, all of which post-dated peak amphibolite facies metamorphism. Preexisting stages of alteration were produced by high temperature (400-550 degrees C) fluids associated with both mineralisation and externally-derived fluids associated with the regional Na-Ca alteration system. The style of mineralisation and alteration at this deposit is unique to the Cloncurry district, and describes a new 'Ernest Henry-style ' of Fe-oxide-(Cu-Au) mineralisation within the Fe-oxide-(Cu-Au) class of deposits.
