摘要
The flame retardant treated and untreated plywood samples were prepared with the aim to investigate the effect of the way of treatment and flame retardant used on flammability parameters. As flame retardants magnesium hydroxide, polyphosphate and diammonium hydrogen phosphate were used. The magnesium hydroxide and polyphosphate were incorporated into the glue mixture, in various amounts. The diammonium hydrogen phosphate was used for impregnation of wood veneers. The most effective way of treatment was the combination of magnesium hydroxide applied into the glue mixture with the diammonium hydrogen phosphate applied to the wood itself. For this modification the heat release rats, total heat released and the total mass loss were significantly reduced. The smoke production was lowered with the increasing uptake of flame retardants.
