摘要：
The instability of magnetohydrostatic equilibria of self-gravitating plasmas is studied using normal mode analysis. Numerical simulations are used to follow the dynamics of the perturbed equilibria into the nonlinear regime. Our results shed new light on energy equipartition and magnetic reconnection in seif-gravitating magnetized sheets.
