Search for CP violation in tau lepton decay

Using the CLEO II detector a search for CP violation in tau lepton decay has been performed. CP violation can manifest itself as a difference in tau(+) and tau(-) angular distributions. Using this technique a sample of tau(+/-) --> K(o)pi(+/-)nu(tau) decays has been analyzed for evidence of CP violation. No evidence for CP violation is found and we set the model dependent 90% confidence limit -1.7 < gsin theta(CP) < 0.6.
