Application of Artificial Neural Network Method in the Determination of Natural Frequencies of Cantilever Beams

摘要
In this paper, Artificial Neural Network [ANN] method is used to find the first three modal frequencies of a cantilever beam. The results are then compared to those obtained by analytical methods in the theory of elasticity and those obtained by a software called ANSYS which uses the finite element method. Besides this, similar calculations are performed on a turbine blade of complicated geometry. The results show that ANN methods can be successfully used as an approximate method in such frequencies determinations.
