A STUDY ON STICK-SLIP VIBRATION FOR DRY AND BOUNDARY LUBRICATED FRICTION WITH MASS-ON-MOVING-BELT

摘要
The existent of stick-slip vibrations between coupled machine components are usually unwanted, as they create noise, diminish accuracy and increase wear. In this paper, we study stick-slip motion in a model of a mass resting on a moving belt, restrained by a simple spring and dashpot to a rigid wall. The contribution of each design parameter and operating conditions on the amplitude of the stick-slip vibration are investigated. Furthermore, a dry and boundary lubricated friction model is presented to simulate stick-slip vibrations.
