摘要
Should the author of Electra be considered as a mere man of letters, or a philosopher, too? Mankind, he thinks, is in search of the language that will comprehend existence and essence in a state of oneness: a universal soul, in which language is love. The article was written in 1989 and underlines the gap from the principles of the French Revolution. A poet cannot be satisfied with mere realism and Giraudoux is attracted by some "Natural Rights". Not unlike Bergson, his quest is for pure perception.
