Study on Tool Wear When CFRP are Milled with CVD Diamond Coated Tools

摘要
Basing on the milling experiment of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP), the wear behavior of cemented carbide tool and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamond coating tool on the different cutting condition were compared and studied. The result shows that the flank wear value VB increases with increase of cutting speed, or increase of depth of cut, or decreases of table speed when other cutting parameter is constant. But the flank wear value of cemented carbide tool is 2.3-3.8 times higher than CVD diamond coating tool for the same cutting condition.
