Mechanical performance of axially loaded reinforced concrete columns wrapped with carbon fiber sheet

摘要
Based on the axial compression experiment of sixteen reinforced concrete (RC) square columns and cylinders wrapped with carbon fiber sheet (CFS), the deformation and failure mode were compared, and the effects of CFS layer, concrete strength and CFS width on compression performance were studied. It shows that, the load-deformation curve of reinforced concrete cylinders wrapped with CFS is bilinear and there is not declining stage. As the CFS layer number increases, the load-carrying capacity and ductility of concrete columns increase, the effective ratio of CFS on reinforced concrete cylinders is more than that on square columns. Based on the experiments, the calculating method and formula of load-carrying capacity of reinforced concrete cylinders wrapped with CFS are put forward.
