ICT sector in selected countries in Europe

摘要
This present paper compares the economic branch of information and communication technology on aggregate output level, labour productivity and employment in the selected 19 European countries between years 2000 - 2011. Branch of information and communication technology is one of the most significant sectors of all economical branches because of positive impact on further growth of production performance and productivity across whole economy. This paper aims to describe information and communication technology sector defined by European standard classification of economical activities NACE Rev. 2., section J, in context of its output development, sectoral employment and productivity in selected countries defined by NUTS0, and to make interregional comparison on the background of detailed information and communication technology sectoral analysis. There is also introduced ranking of success of countries in interregional comparisons in area of information and communication technology for year 2011 based on point method and factors discussed in the text. The analysis in this article is based on data from Eurostat.
