The Analysis of Energy Storage Technologies in Power System Stability Enhancement

摘要
Energy storage based stability control device has been proven very effective to improve power system stabilities by providing the dynamic active and reactive power compensation of AC power systems. Detail of the analysis and a mathematic model of such kind of control device are given in this paper. A mathematic model of STATCOM and battery energy storage system (BESS) combined based on equivalent circuit is built. Simulation results show that the power quality and stability can be well improved by battery energy storage.
