摘要
To reduce these costs and energy consumption, direct powder rolling (DPR) is one of the promising techniques. In this research work, DPR is used at room temperature and the process is evaluated to find out the relation between the process and material parameters. The steel powder was compacted to a green sheet using laboratory-scale powder compaction two high rolling machine equipped with gravity feeder to supply the steel powder. Optical microscopy and image J software were used to determine the porosity (%). A mathematical model using Buckingham pi theorem was formulated to establish the significance of influencing parameters on sheet densification. 3D Surface plot and 2D contour were analyzed to define the maximum sheet densification parameter regime with respect to the employed process variables for powder roll compaction.
